Finest Quality Yellow Weasel Hair Brush (Large)

This Chinese brush is suitable for both Chinese brush and Japanese sumi-e calligraphy and painting. It is of the finest quality and made from highly firm, but flexible yellow weasel hair, enabling the brush to be good for ink painting and calligraphy.

The handle of this brush is made of wood and is perfect shaped to fit comfortably in the hand for executing fluid brush strokes necessary for Chinese painting and calligraphy. Like most Chinese brushes, this brush has a loop on the end so that it can be hung from a brush stand to help facilitate natural drying.

Drying the brush by hanging in a vertical position helps to prolong its life, because it ensures that the hairs keep their shape once cleaned and shaped and it allows any excess moisture to run out of the head of the brush. This stops the moisture causing any rot/deterioration in the brush head over time.

The amount of colour the bristle can hold and the control whilst painting allows this brush to be suitable for use with A J Ludlow's Professional Watercolour too.

Please note that although this brush is marked as small (小), it is the largest one in our range of finest quality yellow weasel hair brushes. It is denoted as small because it is primarily a calligraphy brush and so is small when compared to our other calligraphy brushes.Our experience has shown that it is an excellent brush to paint with too and so we have identified it as being a large (painting) brush.
